Past Scenario:
- Children were left at home with elder siblings to take care.
- No hygiene, no education, no access to nutritious food.
SAS Intervention:
- Educational Focus: Emphasized the importance of education through Balwadis (preschools) and created interest among children using play, action songs, and fun-filled activities.
- Community Engagement: Motivated parents about the need for education, integrated learning into daily activities, and created awareness through entry-level programs.
- Infrastructure and Training: Established Balwadis with local infrastructure, appointed and trained village teachers, and provided a structured syllabus. Facilitated teacher training and ensured necessary resources like books and bags were procured by parents. SAS supported with refreshments and conducted regular parent meetings.
Present Condition:
- Improved Literacy and Behavior: Increased literacy rates, disciplined behavior among children and adults, and overall better manners.
- Educational Impact: Children are better prepared for formal education, and there is a visible impact on the community’s attitude towards education and well-being.
